I was talking to Leigh the other day on the telephone and she informed me that next week is my Birthday. Strangely that was news to me. I guess with all the tests and presentations at school I really was trying to get through day by day and April has snuck up on me. I started thinking about what 19 years has brought me and here are some things I came up with...
19 years down- who knows how many to come...and what has it brought me?
1. Knowledge- although you may think little I swear it is there =)
2. Change- after graduating from high school I didn't think there would be much of a change, but there really was, life is full of surprises
3. Confidence- some of the things I do now, and even say, I know I wouldn't have even last year, although I still hide behind my bashfulness I feel I can be confident in the person that I am.
4. God- although my relationship is full of ups and downs due to my unwillingness bring my all to him, he is always there- always loving and forgiving
5. Gratefulness- for my family, I look at the important times in my life and they were/are always there- growing up is a challenge but the love and care I receive from them has made it worth the while
6. 7 beautiful, amazing, unique nephews and niece...eight if you count Sleepy, I grow more and more proud of them every day
7. Growth- I will admit I struggle a lot, whether it be in life or with my walk with Christ, but looking back on my small trials, fears, and accomplishments I feel that rolled up in my small body is a woman
8. 2 parking lot bump ups- yes two...I will admit I cannot park worth a flip...hence, as Dad calls it, I choose the healthy spots to spare others
9. A love of school- you may be saying "yea right"- due to my many complaints but college has taught me to love new knowledge...I sometimes even like my Spanish class =)
10. An obsession for jeans, high heeled shoes, and iTunes- the numbers are growing people, jeans=16 pairs, shoes=uncounted, I check the new lists of classics and top 100 songs every day
So there you have it. Now it is your turn. I would love for any of you (I think the family are the only ones who read) to post something that has happened, funny or serious, that involves you and I in my 19 years. I love and really miss y'all, because of school I feel like I don't really get to see and talk to you like I used to.

Hmmmm, there are so many. But what immediately came to mind was the day that the buddies got their tubes in their ears. Remember when G threw up blood all over his crib, while you were holding him? Your face was priceless. You just took it all in stride and helped me clean everything up. You are going to be a great mom, and you are one heck of an Aunt, and of course, last, but not least, the best sister in the world.
hey Shannon, what about me?!? lol
Remember when we used to make castles/houses in the living room of our old house with the couch pillows and random blankets from around the house. Or play "down set hut" with Shaun--all three of us hanging off his back while he effortlessly crossed the living room. Or hours spent setting up our Barbie houses and villages, only to take it all down without actually "playing?" I love you B-I'm so proud of the woman you are. You stand up for yourself, your beliefs, and even your crazy, preppy style :). I know you envy my curls, but we look enough alike already ok? lol I love you! Happy almost b-day
Leigh, you are the best sister ever too!!!!
You are both the best older sisters a girl could ask for!!!
Teaching you piano and mandolin were good times. You would always work so hard to get it just right! :-) Nothing less than perfect was good enough for you. Keep that up, you really deserve the best in life. Love you!
